Kalachakra Digital Observatory (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Kalachakra web application at kalachakra.life. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal and astronomical data you share with us.

🛡 2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide accurate astronomical computations, Vedic astrology (Jyotish) charts, and personalized AI insights:

• Account data: Collected via Google Sign-In (email address, display name, and profile photo URL — we never access or store your Google account password).
• Birth profile data: Name, date of birth, time of birth, birth place name, geographical latitude and longitude, and optional sex field. These are stored securely in Firestore under your authenticated user ID.
• Usage data: Collected via Google Analytics 4 in an anonymized form. This service does not receive your birth details or chart calculations.
• Feedback submissions: Messages and contact emails submitted via our in-app feedback form, stored in a dedicated secure Firestore collection.
• Sutradhara conversation data: AI interaction logs stored per user ID. These are kept private to your account and are never shared for advertising or model training.
• Observatory location: Stored locally in your browser storage or optionally in Firestore for signed-in users.
• Technical/server logs: Standard server infrastructure logs (IP address, requested path, timestamp) managed by Firebase and Google Cloud, which are not linked to your personal birth profile data.

🛡 3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used strictly to power the core functionality of the Observatory:

• Computing precise astronomical positions, birth charts, and Panchang readings.
• Generating personalized AI interpretive text via the Google Gemini API.
• Synchronizing your profiles and settings across your devices when signed in.
• Understanding aggregate feature usage to improve application stability and performance (via GA4).
• Responding to your inquiries and feedback.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your birth details, chart data, or Sutradhara conversations for third-party advertising or AI model training.

🛡 4. Third-Party Services

We integrate selected, secure third-party infrastructure:

• Firebase (Google LLC): Provides secure authentication, Firestore database storage, and hosting infrastructure.
• Google Analytics 4: Collects anonymized web usage statistics.
• Gemini API (Google LLC): Generates AI interpretive content. Only astronomical and astrological calculation facts (such as planetary longitudes and dashas) are transmitted; personal identifying information like your name or email is never sent to the AI model.

🛡 5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained securely until you choose to delete it. You have full control over your data directly within the application:

• Individual profile deletion: Navigate to Settings → Account & Data to remove specific birth profiles.
• Full account deletion: Available from the same screen (Settings → Account & Data), which immediately and irreversibly purges all your user records and Firestore documents.

🛡 6. Your Rights

You retain full rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time using our built-in in-app tools. Additional privacy inquiries or data requests can be submitted via the in-app feedback channel.

🛡 7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us via the feedback form so we can promptly delete it.

🛡 8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements in our app or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of this policy indicates the latest revision.
